Just before school started, we learned that a senior from my daughter's high school was killed in a car accident. A few days ago, a junior at another local high school passed away from illness.Yet another sudden tragedy struck a 10th grade boy who used to attend our church. He suffered a stroke, and we are praying that he recovers well after surgery. Can you imagine yourself as a parent under those circumstances? I know many of you can. Some of you have suffered lost and critical illnesses of your children as I have. It's a cliche, I know, but life is indeed fragile, and we often don't appreciate it until it's threatened or taken away. I know the economy is bad. I know you're stressed out at work. But no matter what your circumstances are today, in the end, our family and loved ones are what matters to us most, isn't it? Too often we get carried away with the daily grind of life, that we miss the simple pleasures of simply taking the time to enjoy our family. We need to be shaken a little bit to get our focus back on track. Have you taken your kids to the park and perhaps even go on the swings yourself too?
